Kacie's 5 Marriage Rules (for nearly married or married couples)

Image
Well, everybody, my husband and I celebrated 8 years of marriage yesterday. We had a great date night while my awesome mom kept our little ones for us. I thought I would share a little 8 year wisdom (yeah right) on my view of marriage. I'm no expert, obviously, but from my own personal experience I beleive there are a few, dare I say, "rules" to follow that will encourage a successful lasting relationship that Justin and I have done pretty well at following. Rule #1: Anything you don't like about the person you are considering marrying is more than likely not going to change after you say your wedding vows. You will not change the person you marry and you will have to learn to live with your differences. In fact, some of the things you do like about your relationship may even stop or become less frequent. It's important that you aren't merely in love with the "idea" of marriage, but that you actually love the person - bad breath, messy hair, no make-...

Why I think I'm ADD and shouldn't have to take a test to find out

I went to a psychologist, Dr. Sid Epperson, today to see about getting tested for ADD. My family Doctor referred me to him. The following happenings and situations should prove that I have ADD and do not need a test to tell me this....... -My appt. was at 1:00 and they told me to get there early. I planned to leave my house at 12:40 and didn't walk out the door until 12:50 and then still had to go back inside to get my phone which I could not find and ended up being under the sheets on my bed... yes, I made the bed with my phone in it. So, I didn't actually leave until 12:56. -I had to call on the way to find out where they were located b/c, no, I hadn't even done THAT yet.......ugh!!!!! Luckily I knew right where it was and it wasn't too far away. -I have no clue what time it was when i walked in the door and they just put me straight back and let me fill out my paper work afterwards (since I was late, obviously). It didn't even cross my mind to tell them on ...

Civil War: Carnleyrica

Image
General Kacie Carnley of North Carnleyrica, declared a Civil War today. Captain Sidney Pearl of Sidneyland and Colonel Lachlan Stone of Lachlanville, both in South Carnleyrica, are not letting up. They joined forces today and set off an explosion of, what appears to be, an entire can of Altoids. The explosion occurred at exactly 1630 hours in the central region of Sidneyland. Officials are trying to determine why the explosion occurred on their own land and are investigating the possibility of a power struggle among these southern troops. No casualties have been reported, however two young ladies, ironically both named Barbie, appear to have some minor skin discolorations from the excessive white powder that covered this southern region. There have been reports of a militia being formed for the South today, as well. The militia is being led by the very young and ardent patriot, Paisley Jewel or "Lieutenant P.J." She has not posed a huge problem for the North yet, due to her l...

Most Embarrassing Moment

I really can't believe I'm blogging this, but every time I remember this I laugh and think, " I should blog this." So........when I was a senior in High School I was taking some college classes at night and I started going with my friend Beth, who had already graduated, to a college Bible study group called "Gen X." Well, they planned a retreat to Pineywoods Baptist Encampment and I signed up to go with Beth. I didn't really know very many other people and a lot of them seemed a lot older than me. Anyway, one night we had a worship and prayer time that lasted all night long except I was too sleepy to stay in the conference room all night so I went on out as some other students had done. Beth, however, stayed in the worship room. Not wanting to go right to my room I stood around trying to figure out something I could do. I was hungry and thirsty and thought I would go to to the cafeteria to get something. On my way there, a group of guys in our group appe...

Things that bother me or that I simply don't like

-most all church signs (message boards) -local commercials (they are always corny, low budget and usually contain an inside joke that only the workers of the company would understand) -most fruity candy, I prefer chocolate -unsweet cornbread -unsweet tea -rootbear, yuck (Justin and Sidney love it and I think it smells like nasty medicine) -Larry the cable guy and his famous phrase "Get -r done" -A street in North Texas named "Coit" ( It makes my teeth cringe to say it) -The name of a business in Denton called "Shax's" (for some reason that always bothered me. -when people ask me a question with no intention of listening to the answer and start talking before I'm done answering (I'm trying to be aware of doing this myself since it bothers me so much) -domino's pizza -square meat, you know what I'm talking about -most country music -Raisin cookies, there supposed to be chocolate chips...so disappointing -Sugar cookies that look like peanu...
